Pipelayer / Underground Utility Specialist

$25.00–$30.00 per Hour | Overtime Available | Full-Time

Lippert Excavation & Pipeline, Inc. is seeking an experienced Pipelayer / Underground Utility Specialist to join our growing underground utilities team. If you have experience installing water, sewer, and storm utility systems and take pride in quality workmanship, we'd like to hear from you.

Operating out of our Sandpoint office, we specialize in major land development, underground utility infrastructure, and heavy civil construction, completing projects that improve communities throughout North Idaho.

Pay & Benefits

• $25.00–$30.00 per hour (DOE)
• Time-and-a-half overtime after 40 hours
• Typical schedule of 50–60 hours per week
• Full-time, Monday-Friday
• Consistent local work
• No overnight travel
• Opportunity to grow with an established company

Work Location

• Based in Sandpoint, Idaho
• Projects within approximately 50 miles of Sandpoint and Ponderay
• Home every night

What You'll Do

As a key member of our underground utilities crew, you'll work alongside the excavator operator to safely install underground infrastructure for residential, commercial, and municipal projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Install water, sewer, and storm utility systems
• Lay concrete, PVC, and ductile iron pipe
• Set up and operate pipe lasers
• Read grade stakes and verify elevations
• Interpret civil blueprints and utility plans
• Glue, seal, and connect pipe fittings
• Ensure OSHA trench safety requirements are followed
• Communicate grade adjustments with equipment operators
• Assist in training and mentoring utility laborers
• Maintain quality workmanship and job site safety

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of underground utility pipelaying experience
• Experience installing water, sewer, and storm utilities

Skills

• Ability to read civil blueprints
• Experience using pipe lasers
• Knowledge of trench safety
• Ability to verify grade and elevations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Comfortable working 10-12 hour shifts
