Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice./pulliPerforms all aspects of patient care in a manner which optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors./liliFollows the five medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors./liliInvolves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care. Develops, implements and updates an individualized plan of care based on identified patient care needs. Includes nursing, teaching, continuum of care and discharge planning./liliAble to state rationale for clinical decisions based on critical thinking./liliAssesses, analyzes, validates and integrates data to assess patients physical psychosocial, rehab, safety, learning, spiritual, cultural, age-specific, special risk and self-care needs. Identifies patient care needs, problems and variances./liliAdequately assesses and reassesses pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management./liliPerforms all aspects of invasive lab procedure process including but not limited to: Set-up, patient preparation, procedures, supply management, and room turnover. Assists with procedure room stocking and informs inventory designee with supplies need reordering in a timely manner to prevent supply outage./liliPerforms routine procedures including: patient vital signs, specimen collection / handling, and 12 lead EKG testing./liliCollects and analyzes data, identifies expected outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes./liliDirects care and determines the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care./liliCollaborates with patient, family, physicians and ancillary staff.
