Seeking a Veterinary Assistant!

VCA Columbia Animal Hospital at Hickory Ridge is looking for a full time, experienced veterinary assistant to join our unique 6-doctor primary care practice.

We have been serving our Howard County community and surrounding area for over 50 years. We are a dedicated team of professionals from diverse backgrounds. We are highly trained and skilled, AAHA accredited, Silver Certified Cat Friendly (Feline VMA), and Fear Free Certified Professionals. We believe in providing the best, most progressive, and fear free care to our patients while providing an inclusive and amazing experience for our clients.

Our ideal candidate has experience as a veterinary assistant or technician, must embrace our Fear Free culture, and is willing to learn or grow in areas including, but not limited to:

• Fear Free/gentle handling

• Educating clients on various topics

• Conducting appointments alongside our veterinarians

• Patient assessment

• Pharmacy

• Hands-free radiology

• Sample collection

• Catheter placement

• Anesthetic monitoring

• Surgical preparation and assisting

• Dental procedures

The successful candidate will share our passion for high quality medicine, patient and client care, while being dedicated to creating and maintain a healthy work environment. • Salary: $21-$23 per hour (dependent upon experience and credentials)

• Full time

• Weekend rotations required

• Flexible schedule
