Senior Veterinary Assistant

We're growing, and we're looking for a Senior Veterinary Assistant to help lead from the floor. This is a role for someone who's already put in the reps; who knows their way around a treatment room, can mentor junior assistants without being asked, and is ready to take on expanded clinical responsibilities in a practice that will notice and reward the difference they make. Your Day-To-Day You might open team huddle, or you might run it. You'll move through wellness visits, assist with lab work, dental procedures, and imaging, and be the steady, experienced presence that keeps the floor running efficiently. When a junior assistant is uncertain, they look to you first. You close the day having delivered excellent care, kept the team grounded, and made the whole operation sharper. What You'll Do Patient Care: Deliver confident, experienced hands-on support across wellness, urgent care, and complex appointments. Set the standard for how every patient is handled. Mentor & Lead: Be the go-to resource for junior assistants. Answer questions on the floor, model best practices, and help newer team members build real skills and confidence. Expanded Clinical Duties: Support in-house lab work, dental procedures, and digital imaging under DVM and RVT direction. Your experience means you can take on more. Team & Floor Support: Assist RVTs and DVMs during exams, procedures, and surgical prep. Keep treatment areas stocked and running, and make sure every appointment flows. Record-Keeping & Standards: Document patient records with accuracy and help hold the team to Bright Vet's care standards, not just your own work, but the environment around you. Client Communication: Communicate clear and confidently with pet owners. Explain procedures and aftercare in a way that reflects experience, not a script. What You Bring 3-5 years of veterinary assistant experience (required) Hands-on experience with lab work, dental support, or diagnostic imaging strongly preferred A natural mentor. You share knowledge and help junior teammates grow without being asked Comfortable with electronic medical records and modern veterinary software Calm, grounded, and confident under pressure.
