Sr Principal Program Finance Specialist

Job DescriptionJob Summary The position will be responsible for implementing data-driven analytics into effective program performance outcomes. The candidate will interact with the business unit, program staff, and program management to support project planning and control, variance analysis, and internal reporting requirements. In addition, the Sr Prin Program Analyst will interface with the FP&A team, program managers, accounting, contracts, and procurement organizations to address EAC booking assumptions, updated forecasts for revenue recognition, backlog, and unbilled analysis on supported programs. Candidates for this position will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced across financial management, leadership, collaboration, innovation, communication, project management, risk/opportunity management, business acumen, and proposal-based capabilities.Job Responsibilities:Management of program financials, including financial and cost forecasting, revenue, Operating Margin (OM), Cash, reporting and analysis, profitability analysis, estimate-at-complete (EAC) maintenance, program control, and ad hoc analyses and reporting.Implement and maintain Earned Value Management System (EVMS) compliance, including cost/schedule/technical integrationGenerate monthly CDRLs to the customer including IPMDAR & CSDR reporting.Setting up and maintaining cost control system; monitor and control costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system.Performing analyses and preparing reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.Partner with the Program Manager to create and influence the baselining of programs and EAC workbooksIncorporate Earned Value Management methodology in the support of Program Financial analysis to support performance measurement and EAC/ETC analysisSupport the PMO in the Variance Analysis Reporting (VAR) process.Working with PMO to prepare budgets and schedules and forecasts for contract work and perform and/or assist in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis.Provide financial analysis, monitor trends, and be able to accurately interpret the results in support of Program ManagementIncorporate contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines.Performing monthly, quarterly, and annual Estimates at Complete (EACs).Developing and monitoring program risks and opportunities, such as cost overruns and scheduling delaysPrepare and monitor EAC workbooks for percent of completionPreparing and managing monthly business forecasts to give rise to business unit revenue, margin, and cash forecastsIdentify and understand the impact of variances to the quarterly forecasts and annual planSupporting program PMR reporting synchronized with enterprise and program business rhythms and requirements.Effectively communicating with leadership and customers regarding financial status, metrics, and deliverables.Participating in knowledge transfer and best practices sharing with peers.The ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. US Citizenship is required.Required Qualifications:Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of related professional experience - OR - a Master’s degree with fewer years of related professional experienceStrong working knowledge of Earned Value Management principles and EVMS software (Deltek Cobra)Experience in cost management, finance management, or pricing & estimating.Experience successfully managing and producing data with strict deadlines.Experience with financial analysis and/or cost analysis reporting.Strong PC skills and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel.Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze data, and strong critical thinking skillsAn active DoD Secret Clearance.Job RequirementsWhy should you join Mercury Systems?Mercury Systems is a technology company that makes the world a safer, more secure place.
