Infectious Disease Physician Opportunity

Our organization is on the lookout for an Infectious Disease Physician who has a passion for academic medicine to become part of our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will hold board certification or be board eligible in infectious diseases and will receive an academic appointment that reflects their level of experience.

This is a full-time position focused on adult infectious diseases, primarily involving inpatient consultations, with one clinic day scheduled each week.

• Diagnose and manage a wide variety of infectious diseases, including but not limited to:
• Sepsis and bloodstream infections
• Endocarditis
• Osteomyelitis and infections related to prosthetic joints
• Complex skin and soft tissue infections
• Healthcare-associated infections and those resistant to multiple drugs
• Inpatient care for HIV-related conditions
• Opportunistic infections in patients with compromised immune systems
• Infections related to surgery and medical devices
• Engage directly with Albany Med's Antibiotic Stewardship Program.
• Work collaboratively with teams in hospital medicine, critical care, surgery, oncology, transplant, nephrology, and emergency medicine, as well as local community hospitals through telemedicine.
• Participate in weekend on-call duties, anticipated at a ratio of 1:5.

• Interest or experience in hospital epidemiology is advantageous.
• Experience in managing both surgical and complex medical patients is preferred.
