Job Title: General Machine Operator

Job Description

This role focuses on setting up, adjusting, and operating high-speed production equipment to convert materials according to established specifications. You will work in a large, clean manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient machine operation, accurate measurements, and consistent product quality while meeting rated production standards and supporting overall workflow.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate one or more pieces of production equipment to convert materials to established specifications, maintaining efficient and safe operation.
• With some assistance, operate additional equipment as needed to support production requirements.
• Select appropriate job supplies and verify that materials conform to order requirements before use.
• Load and unload materials onto and off machines or equipment, aligning materials carefully to minimize waste and optimize material utilization.
• Report any material or order discrepancies to the lead person or supervisor promptly.
• Transfer completed materials from machines to skids, pallets, containers, or other designated storage, ensuring proper handling and organization.
• Repackage unused bulk stock to ensure proper storage and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Maintain equipment and the surrounding work area in a clean and orderly condition to support safety and efficiency.
• Package or prepare materials for shipment, following established procedures and standards.
• Tag or label materials with required information and accurately complete work orders, records, and related documentation.
• Assist in monitoring required supplies, materials, and equipment to support continuous production.
• Complete inventory use slips for stock material used during production activities.
• Perform all tasks within rated production standards and provide feedback to the supervisor or lead person when production standards are exceeded.
• Follow and comply with all rules and regulations of employment as outlined in the Associate Handbook and subsequent communications.
• Ensure that all quality standards are met, perform required tests, and complete data collection and documentation as defined by the Quality Program.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or lead person to support production operations.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of machine operator experience.
• At least 2 years of high-speed machine operator experience, in any industry.
• Proficiency in operating production and converting machinery.
• Ability to use measurement tools accurately, including tape measures.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for machine and process issues.
• Ability to read and write clearly to follow work orders, labels, and documentation.
• Capability to perform basic math to support measurements, counts, and production calculations.
• Attention to detail to ensure proper material alignment, packaging, and quality standards.
• Ability to work within established production rates and maintain consistent output.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Comfort working with high-speed equipment and adapting to changing production needs.
• Ability to work both independently and in small teams of 2–3 people.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain clean work areas and accurate records.
• Reliability in attendance and performance to support production schedules.
• Willingness to follow written procedures, safety guidelines, and quality protocols.

Work Environment

This position is on second shift, typically working from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with the need to be open to working during the week and on Saturdays as production requires. The role is based in a large, clean manufacturing facility where employees work mostly independently and occasionally in small groups of 2–3. The environment centers on high-speed production equipment, accurate measurement tools, and adherence to safety and quality standards, providing a structured and professional setting for focused, hands-on work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Waukesha,WI.
