About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years preferred (will consider 1+ years) License: Compact license accepted (must be obtained prior to start) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS preferred Must-Have: - Cardiovascular experience required - Previous charge experience (2 years preferred) - Patient ratio experience of 4:1 Description: This position functions as a cardiac stepdown unit with a significant cardiac patient population. The unit includes 55 beds. Ratios are typically 1:4 during the day and night shifts. Weekend and float requirements are as needed. Patients seen on the unit include those with conditions such as CHF, STEMI, NSTEMI, and other cardiovascular-related diagnoses. The typical daily census is approximately 38 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Skills required include management of dysrhythmias, central line care, cardiac telemetry, and administration of blood products. Candidates should have experience with non-invasive airway management and telemetry monitoring. Travelers should be prepared to float to like units if needed based on facility demands.
