Lab Associate III: Phlebotomy & Lab Skills Growth

Christian Hospital Northeast Campus, part of BJC HealthCare, is seeking an experienced Lab Associate III to join our laboratory team. Northwest HealthCare , six miles west of Christian, offers 24- hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services.

Role Purpose

Performs a variety of pre analytic, analytic and post analytic laboratory duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived and moderate complex testing with appropriate training and competency, sweat chloride collections, EKG's, etc.
• Under supervision, reports test results as appropriate.
• Sorts and processes routine and specific high level specimens received by the lab--including multistep technical processing (i.e. Histology, Microbiology, Cytology, etc.). Ensures correct processing and packaging for esoteric send out tests.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• Inventory management, equipment cleaning, maintenance, loading, etc.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

• 2-5 years

• Associate's Degree

Licenses & Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Phlebotomy
