Job Title: Registered Nurse
Profession: RN Specialty: FBC/L&D Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night - 12x3 - 07PM Scheduled Hours 36 Start Date: 07/06/2026 End Date: 10/03/2026
Experience: Minimum of 2 years current experience License: State Nursing License or Compact State Nursing License Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certifications
Must-Have: Labor assessment, Fetal evaluation, Stabilization of patients, Medication administration, Use of obstetric triage acuity tools
Description: Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required.
Job Summary: Antepartum: Assess all triage patients over 20 weeks. Use obstetric triage acuity tools. Perform labor assessment and evaluation. Conduct fetal evaluation and assessment. Evaluate for labor at term, signs of preterm labor, signs and symptoms of preeclampsia, rupture of membranes, decreased fetal movement, preterm premature rupture of membranes, vaginal bleeding, and acute and critical conditions. Stabilize patients for delivery or transfer to a higher level of care if needed in emergency medical conditions. Intrapartum: Perform labor assessment, evaluation, and care. Conduct fetal evaluation and assessment. Prepare expectant mothers for safe delivery. Administer medications as necessary, including but not limited to Pitocin, misoprostol, methergine, hemabate, magnesium sulfate, terbutaline, labetalol, nifedipine, hydralazine, and insulin. Stabilize newborns immediately. Administer newborn medications. Prepare for scheduled or emergency cesarean delivery. Postpartum/Newborn: Assess and care for postpartum patients, both vaginal and cesarean deliveries. Provide care for newborn patients, including hearing screens and assisting with laboratory draws. Perform IV starts and care. Administer medications, including hepatitis B, vitamin K, erythromycin, and antibiotics. Assist with circumcisions. Treat opiate withdrawal in newborns. Stabilize critically ill newborns for transport. Provide phototherapy and hypoglycemia care.
Preferred Skills & Experience: EPIC experience; training can be provided on-site.
