Veterinary Assistant – Brentwood Veterinary Hospital, Brentwood, CA Veterinary Assistants play an integral role in our hospital, handling patient care, taking care of clients, assisting doctors in surgery, and providing quality nursing care to hospitalized patients. We are looking for a compassionate technician who is ready to put their skills and leadership ability to work. Qualifications Committed Veterinary Assistant You possess clinical skills and experience that include (but are not limited to): Patient assessment and physical examinations Phlebotomy and catheter placement Knowledge of radiology safety and proper technique Anesthesia monitoring proficiency Perioperative surgical nursing skills Routine dental prophylaxis experience Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures Previous veterinary experience is required Passionate about growth and development Positive attitude and TEAM player Excellent communication skills Exceptional customer service and compassion for all clients and patients Adaptable to the demands of the day Ability to work efficiently, and remain calm during stressful situations Schedule Our hospital is open Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-6:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm, and Saturday 9:00 am-2:00 pm. As our hospital grows, we look forward to offering additional hours. Please reach out to discuss the schedule that would work best for you. Compensation We expect the range for a veterinary assistant to be $17-28 per hour based on knowledge, skills, and experience.
