Description
  • Conduct assessments for patients of all ages utilizing standardized tools and observational methods.
  • Design tailored treatment strategies that cater to immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Implement individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on areas such as communication, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with a team of physical and occupational therapists, medical professionals, families, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide education and resources to patients and their families to support ongoing progress outside of therapy.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain a consistent continuum of care.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and timely, adhering to all applicable guidelines at state and federal levels.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in the field through continuous learning and professional collaboration.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days from the start of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based therapies for varied age groups, with knowledge of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.
  • Exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
