Medical Biller

Description: We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly organized Optometric Medical Biller to join our growing boutique optometric practice. This position is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong understanding of medical and vision insurance billing, and claims management. The ideal candidate takes pride in accuracy, problem-solving, and maximizing practice revenue while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and integrity. Key Responsibilities: Submit accurate and timely medical and vision insurance claims Review, reconcile, and post insurance payments, adjustments, and patient payments Investigate, correct, and resubmit denied or rejected claims promptly Follow up on outstanding insurance balances and aging accounts receivable Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits when needed Ensure accurate coding using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines Maintain compliance with payer policies and government regulations Work insurance correspondence, requests for additional information, and appeals Identify billing trends, errors, and opportunities to improve reimbursement Collaborate with providers and front office staff to resolve documentation and billing issues Maintain accurate patient account records within the Practice Management and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Assist with daily and month-end reporting and other revenue cycle responsibilities as assigned Requirements: Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of optometric medical billing experience required (experience is a must) Thorough knowledge of medical insurance billing, vision plans, and coordination of benefits Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and medical coding guidelines Experience working insurance aging reports and accounts receivable Ability to interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs) Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy Professional, dependable, and self-motivated Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficient with Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management software Commitment to excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement Must be available to work Saturdays If you are an experienced optometric biller who thrives on accuracy, enjoys solving complex billing challenges, and is passionate about contributing to the financial success of a premier eye care practice, we invite you to apply and become an integral part of our exceptional team.
