Shipping & Receiving Specialist - 1st Shift Opening

We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Shipping & Receiving Specialist to manage the flow of incoming and outgoing materials. This role combines administrative and physical work to ensure orders are received, processed, packaged, and shipped accurately and on time. You'll work closely with Purchasing, Production, Sales, and Shipping to keep operations running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage
• Verify quantities, part numbers, and documentation against purchase orders
• Record receipts and organize materials into proper locations
• Resolve discrepancies with vendors and purchasing
• Process returns and maintains SDS documentation

• Review and prepare sales orders for shipment
• Pull, stage, and package orders (including building custom skids/crates)
• Label shipments and document weights/dimensions
• Ensure all required paperwork is included (manuals, SDS, certifications, etc.)
• Coordinate pickups with carriers and ensure compliance with shipping regulations
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages

• Operate forklift and material handling equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Assist with inventory counts and material handling
• Perform basic maintenance and light assembly as needed
• Communicate issues that could impact shipping or receiving flow

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of shipping & receiving experience preferred
• Forklift experience preferred (certification a plus)
• Ability to read measuring tools (tape measures, scales, etc.)
• Basic carpentry skills and ability to use hand/power tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Dependable with strong attendance and work ethic

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50–70 lbs regularly
• Standing, walking, and moving throughout the shift
