Job Title: Journeyman Ironworker Location: Calvert, Alabama area Employment Type: Independent Contractor Pay: $30/hour (DOE) Per Diem: $70/day Schedule: 40–60 hours per week, including occasional Saturdays and Sundays Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Ironworker to support ongoing projects in the Calvert, Alabama area. This role requires a skilled professional with a strong background in structural steel erection, rigging, and ironwork safety practices. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications Erect, align, and secure structural steel components Perform rigging, hoisting, and signaling operations Bolt, weld, and connect steel framework safely and accurately Install metal decking, bar joists, and other structural components Inspect materials and equipment to ensure quality and safety standards Maintain compliance with all OSHA and site-specific safety regulations Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to meet project deadlines Qualifications Proven experience as a Journeyman Ironworker Strong knowledge of structural steel erection and rigging techniques Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions Proficient in using ironworking tools and equipment Valid certifications (OSHA 10/30, rigging, welding) preferred Ability to read and interpret construction drawings Valid Driver's License Work Environment Outdoor construction setting with exposure to varying weather conditions Physically demanding role requiring lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods Fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience ($30/hour DOE) $70/day per diem Opportunity for consistent overtime (40–60 hours/week) Potential for long-term project work #J-18808-Ljbffr
