Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is currently seeking an Optometrist to fill an opening with a multi-specialty practice located in Bronx, New York. This role focuses on providing comprehensive eye care, including routine eye examinations, diagnosis of vision problems, and prescribing corrective lenses in a collaborative outpatient setting.

Qualifications:

\n
• Education: Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
\n
• Licensure: Must have an active New York State Optometry license.
\n
• Experience: New graduates are welcome to apply. Prior experience in a multi-specialty or outpatient optometry setting is a plus.
\n
• Technical Skills: Proficient in performing comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing vision problems and eye diseases, prescribing corrective lenses and medications, and utilizing electronic health records.
\n
• Soft Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to educate patients on proper eye care techniques.
\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n
• Perform thorough routine eye inspections.
\n
• Identify the patient’s visual alertness, field of vision and hand-eye coordination.
\n
• Diagnose sight problems, such as nearsightedness and color blindness.
\n
• Prescribe corrective lenses and medications.
\n
• Maintain accurate medical files for all patients.
\n
• Promote eye health by teaching patients about proper eye care techniques.
\n
• Identify and assess eye defects and diseases such as diabetes and liver failure.
\n
• Record all diagnosis and treatment plans including transfers and therapeutic prescriptions
