Sanitation Laborer - 2nd Shift

You'll work with specialized cleaning tools and equipment to remove buildup, support food safety goals, and ensure our processing areas meet rigorous USDA and company standards. If you take pride in creating a safe and sanitary environment, enjoy hands-on work, and want to make a big impact behind the scenes, this is the role for you!Schedule: 2nd Shift: 1st Processing-Monday through Friday, 2:00pm-8:00pm and every other Sunday 3:00pm-8:00pm Further Processing-Monday through Friday 5:00pm-11:00pm and every other Sunday 5:00pm-10:00pmPrincipal Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDisassemble equipment as necessary to properly clean.Use water, chemicals and scrub pads to clean equipment to a level acceptable to USDA and Perdue QA.Must be able to help wipe down condensation in your area after completing your cleaning processMust be trained and able to use Lock out / Tag out procedures.Wear all necessary safety equipment such as steel-toed boots, bump cap, safety glasses/goggles, rain suits and ear plugs.Must be able to help assemble some equipment in certain areas for production startup.Follow all reasonable requests by supervisor.Other Duties as assigned by supervisor, including working with other departments as needed.Minimum Education and ExperienceMinimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field.Preferred Education and ExperienceHigh School or equivalent is beneficial but not required.Experience in a poultry processing/manufacturing environment.Physical Requirements and Environmental FactorsWhen in a plant environment:Ability to tolerate exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.Ability to stand for an extended period and perform repetitive tasks.Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs by reaching, bending, and pushing boxes.Must be able to work in temperatures not to exceed 60 degreesAbility to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required.May work in an environment with varying temperatures between 28 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.May handle products varying in temperatures between 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.Must be able to work with corrosive chemicalsMay be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.Wet Environment - rain suits required.Perdue Farms Inc. is an Equal Opportunity employer.
