Hugg and Hall Equipment Company is looking for someone with mechanical knowledge and customer service skills to join our team as a Preventative Maintenance Tech in the field. ABOUT THE POSITIONPM Field Service Mechanics perform routine maintenance on various types of customer and company-owned material handling equipment within a designated territory. In this role, you will:Perform preventative maintenance tasks on various types of construction equipment in the field to prolong its lifespan. Continuously communicate in a courteous and effective manner with customers and co-workers including Salespeople, Coordinators, and Managers regarding job progress and general updatesMaintain a safe working environment and observe all safety laws, policies and rules, both on-site and during the operation of company vehiclesStrong mechanical aptitude, strong customer service skills, a professional demeanor, and a safety-first mentality are all key.COMPENSATION/BENEFITSCompetitive compensation plus Quarterly incentives and bonus programs = very strong earning potentialCompany provided vehicle, phone, and tabletOngoing paid training, manufacturer certifications, and career advancement opportunitiesMedical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance401(k) Retirement with company matchGenerous paid time off and holidaysREQUIREMENTSMinimum of 6 months to 1-year hands-on experience as a service technician/mechanic in the material handling equipment industry, or mechanical training/education, or experience in a related industryHave your own complete line of tools including specialized tools needed to complete the job at the customer siteBasic computer skillsValid driver's license with a clean driving recordMinimum 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalentOTHER SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:Technical aptitude/experience in hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical systems.Familiarity with equipment operationFamiliarity with diagnostic tools and equipmentAbility to read or be trained in reading schematicsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionPHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSThis position:will be working in operating facilities and outdoors traveling to customer locations. The employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures. The normal auto hazards will apply.will be frequently working on equipment with potential hazards where appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.must be able to lift 50 pounds. Occasionally may be required to lift items weighing up to 100 pounds. Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds.requires standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and crawling. requires bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting handling/fingering on a daily basis.requires driving a van/truck to and from customer locationsmust be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes.
