Nutrition Services Associate I (Hiring Multiple Candidates) Hourly salary range: $18.12 to $19.31 per hour. Contract months: 9 Salary Grade: 4 Location: District Office Date Posted: 6/9/2026 Date Available: 07/27/2026 Qualifications One year of school food service experience. High school diploma or General Educational Development diploma (GED). Bilingual in English and Spanish. Must possess and maintain a Department of Public Safety (DPS) Identity Verified Print (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card. Must qualify for a food handler’s certification. Ability to schedule activities, collate data, and use job‑related equipment. Ability to work with others and utilize job‑related equipment. Approved knowledge of basic math and cash register operation. Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, stoop, stand and reach. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Skills required to perform multiple, non‑technical tasks, to operate food preparation equipment, and to adhere to safety practices. Knowledge is required to perform basic math, read and follow instructions, and understand written and oral instructions. Abilities include scheduling activities, collating data, operating equipment, flexibility to work with defined processes, problem‑solving issues with data and equipment, maintaining appropriate interpersonal relations, and lifting 50 pounds. Responsibilities Complete necessary cleaning of storerooms, walk‑in refrigerators, laundry rooms, and other common areas as directed by the supervisor to maintain a clean and sanitary work area. Set up and prepare food and cash registers in the assigned area to provide food and service to students and staff. Assist in the preparation of food portions and other items to meet mandated nutritional requirements of students. Assist with serving food products to students and staff so they receive balanced and nutritious meals. Count, prepare monies and necessary paperwork for daily deposit to secure funds for reimbursement of services. Operate oven for cooking of quick items (e.g., French fries, corn dogs) to provide a nutritious meal for students and staff. Wash dishes, equipment, and clean work areas to maintain cleanliness and sanitation. Wear proper uniform, hair net, and name tag to meet mandated health standards. Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Working Environment Physical demands include significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling; climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; and fine finger dexterity. The job requires about 5% sitting, 5% walking, and 90% standing, with minimal temperature variations. Reports to Nutrition Services Lead Terms of Employment Part‑time assignment for nine months. Eligible for standard benefits if assigned for 30 hours or more per week. Evaluation Position evaluated annually as outlined in Governing Board Policy. FLSA Non‑exempt.
