GroundkeeperThe Groundkeeper is responsible for maintaining the outdoor grounds of Zion Lodge, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and employees. This position involves a variety of landscaping and maintenance tasks, utilizing various tools and equipment while adhering to safety and environmental standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Help maintain grounds by performing tasks such as: Raking, blowing, and push mowing. String trimming and edging. Mulching, planting, seeding, and sodding.Aerification and general cleanup dutiesOperate and maintain equipment including but not limited to: Push mowers, backpack blowers, edgers, and spray equipment. Weed eaters, small vehicles, and sidewinder equipmentUse and care for hand tools and equipment issued on the job.Respond to emergency storm events (e.g., snow, tornadoes, hurricanes).Manage garbage/trash removal from all departments while overseeing recycling efforts.Transport recyclables to designated locations as determined by management and/or National Park Services.Distribute and empty recyclable containers throughout the property on a regular schedule.Prepare, maintain, and submit necessary records on the amounts (in lbs per product) of recycled materials to location management.Other Duties as Assigned:This job description is an overview of the scope of responsibilities for this job and is not intended to be an inclusive list of job tasks and expectations. Continually strives to exceed our guest's expectations and create memories for our guests and staff.Work Location:Due to the in-person nature of the hospitality business, housing will be provided on-site and commuting from the local vicinity is also acceptable.Due to the nature of our business, Zion Lodge is open every day. You must be prepared to work a schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:Able to work and thrive in Zion National Park.Ability to requirements and compliance with our concessions contract.Ability to get along well with people, be honest, punctual and reliable.Ability to remain calm and friendly.Ability to adapt to changing work conditions.Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.Must be over the age of 21 years old and possess a valid driver's licenseMust be able to withstand a range of outside weather conditions (heat/cold, rain/snow) including prolonged exposure to sunlight.Ability to lift, push, pull a minimum of 70 lbs.Ability to stand, walk, stoop, knee, crouch, reach for an extended period of time.Ability to bend at the waist and performacenESQ and Play Forever Responsibilities and Requirements :Understand and follow all ESQ procedures that relate to your job duties.Work with a "safety-first" attitude.Minimize your impact on the environment when at work and living onsite.Treat our customers, co-workers, leadership teams, all internal guests with respect and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available in the Employee Handbook).Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE.
