About the Position

Job Title: Progressive Care Unit RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: BSN required Description: 24 bed unit with a patient care ratio of 1:3/4 depending on acuity. Patient population includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary issues, sepsis, high flow oxygen needs, and behavioral patients requiring intravenous drip medications. An educator is available on the unit to work closely with staff. Common medication drips include dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, dobutamine, and nicardipine. The unit experiences high patient throughput typical of stepdown units. Cancellation policy allows for up to three shifts per 13-week contract or two shifts per shorter contract. Charting is performed using the Epic system. Weekend shifts may be required.
