RN - Ambulatory, Pediatric Orthopedics

Job Overview 80% FTE, Monday - Friday with hours between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, no weekends or holidays. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. The position is located at the Science Drive Medical Center and the American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI. Responsibilities Practice closely with the Pediatric Orthopedic team to help care for patients with fractures, spina bifida, club foot, spinal fusions, and more. Provide evidence‑based, high‑quality nursing care for patients via telephone and MyChart. Assist with care coordination and clinic procedures such as wound care, incision checks, pre‑op appointments, pin pulls, etc. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team for consistent and positive patient outcomes. Provide education and guidance to patients and families. Utilize evidence and science to guide practice. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) – preferred. Work Experience At least 6 months of RN experience (required). Relevant RN experience – preferred. Licenses & Certifications Registration as a registered nurse in the state where employed or licensure in a state in the licensure compact – required upon hire. CPR/BLS Certification – required upon hire. Applicable clinical certification – preferred.
