Role Summary The Quality Assurance Manager (2nd Shift) ensures that all Topps and Fanatics Collectibles products meet the highest standards of quality, integrity, and timeliness. They focus on optimizing automation, processes, staff management, and safety standards within the plant. Interface with internal product development teams and the external supply chain, reporting directly to the Vice President of Quality Assurance and Compliance. Position is in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and requires in‑person attendance. Ability to work extended hours, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as production demands. Experience / Education 7–10 years in quality assurance and managing teams in a manufacturing environment. 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role. Quality Assurance Experience Developed and maintained quality control systems. Managed quality assurance programs and ensured compliance with standards. Worked cross‑functionally to define quality parameters and align SOPs, work instructions, training materials, and implementation. Conducted quality process audits and addressed quality issues. Production Experience Extensive experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Managed quality operations and met production targets for on‑time delivery, utilization, efficiency, and scrap. Implemented and managed lean manufacturing initiatives. Management Experience Significant experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a busy manufacturing setting. Led and developed a diverse team of production workers. Optimized resources effectively. Process Improvement Experience Demonstrated experience in process improvement and optimization. Implemented successful process improvement initiatives. Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus. Safety and Compliance Experience Maintained quality, safety, and compliance standards in a manufacturing environment. Conducted safety/quality process audits and implemented safety programs. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards. Collaboration and Cross‑Functional Experience Worked with cross‑functional teams to achieve production goals. Collaborated effectively with engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain departments. Managed supplier relationships and coordinated with external partners. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Supervision and Leadership Provided clear direction on quality standards and parameters. Assigned tasks and monitored daily activities of QC staff on the production floor. Audited processes and implemented improvements. Coached, mentored, and gave performance feedback to production and QC staff. Troubleshot production issues and implemented effective solutions. Fostered innovative thinking to improve production processes. Led and motivated the team. Communicated effectively with strong interpersonal skills. Resolved conflicts and built team cohesion. Organized and managed time efficiently. Quality Control Attended product engineering and BOM reviews, evaluated risks, and communicated with the product development team to drive efficiency and quality. Implemented and monitored quality assurance programs. Managed on‑site and in‑process quality checks for WIP and finished goods across the supply chain. Collaborated with the Fanatics Collectibles team to understand supply‑chain challenges and executed plans to address ongoing supplier issues. Worked with operators, supervisors, and line leads to meet high‑quality standards. Enforced quality process/control audits, standards, and procedures. Inspected or audited physical products to ensure compliance with specifications. Identified and resolved production and quality issues within job schedule time frames. Understood quality control procedures and standards. Production Management Worked with project management to keep manufacturing and finishing processes on schedule and support product release dates. Collaborated across departments to meet production schedules and targets. Monitored department quality processes and adjusted schedules as needed. Coordinated with other departments for smooth workflow and efficient production. Safety and Compliance Collaborated with production, safety, and security to enforce policies and procedures. Ensured compliance with all regulatory and company standards. Applied knowledge of ISO standards and regulatory compliance. Identified areas for improvement and implemented lean manufacturing principles. Developed and coordinated cost‑reduction and efficiency improvement projects. Used data‑driven approaches to enhance performance and reduce waste. Updated SOPs and quality control processes with vendors and internal SMEs. Reporting and Documentation Maintained accurate records of production activities and initiatives. Prepared and submitted department operations reports to the director. Documented incidents, accidents, or quality issues. Supported KPI reporting and analytics (scrap, efficiency, utilization, etc.). Resource Management Collaborated to manage allocation of materials, machinery, and workforce for optimal efficiency. Ensured all necessary materials and supplies were available for production. Training and Development Identified training needs and provided ongoing training and development opportunities. Developed and coordinated training programs to enhance employee skills. Collaboration and Communication Informed direct manager of planned or unplanned leave. Facilitated effective communication between production teams and other departments. Participated in cross‑functional meetings to resolve production issues. Maintained open communication with the director on all department matters. Performance Metrics Tracked KPIs to measure and improve production performance. Used data to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Additional Skills Proficiency with manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle). Analyzed production data to identify trends and improvement areas. Applied statistical analysis and problem‑solving techniques. Understood process optimization and efficiency improvement. Physical Demands Prolonged standing and walking throughout the facility. Lift and carry materials and equipment up to 35 pounds. Regular bending, stooping, and kneeling to inspect machinery. Frequent reaching overhead and below shoulder level. Complied with safety protocols and PPE requirements. Worked in conditions with dust, fumes, strong odors, varying temperatures, and noise. Remained alert during long shifts and high‑pressure situations.
