Veterinary Technician

Charleston Veterinary Referral Center is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our outstanding Surgery team!

Schedule: Monday Friday, variable day shifts between 7:00 AM 4:00 PM, with a rotating on-call anesthesia schedule for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation: $25 $32/hour, based on licensure and experience. Benefits:

About Us: Charleston Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC) is a 24-hour emergency referral center located in beautiful Charleston, SC is the ONLY VECCS Level 1 certified facility in South Carolina, and 1 of only 2 in the southeast region of the United States!

We currently have a 16,000 square foot, state of the art facility with plans to grow in the new year. Our emergency center is staffed 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to always support our community!

Specialty services offered at CVRC include cardiology, internal medicine, neurology & neurosurgery, medical oncology (radiation oncology coming soon!), rehabilitation, soft tissue & orthopedic surgery. Our hospital houses an MRT, CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and digital radiographs for diagnostic imaging.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of veterinary technician experience, preferably in specialty or emergency medicine
• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred but not required
• Strong understanding of basic veterinary medicine and surgical protocols
• Knowledge of common surgical instruments and their uses
• Experience with surgical patient preparation and positioning for a variety of procedures
• Experience monitoring anesthesia for abdominal, thoracic, orthopedic, and minimally invasive procedures
• Experience calculating and administering CRI medications
• Availability to participate in an anesthesia on-call rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills with clients and team members
