Reports to: Materials Manager Position Summary: The Inventory Control Clerk I & II plays a key role in maintaining accurate warehouse inventory by performing regular cycle counts and verifying that materials match documented records. In addition to inventory monitoring, this role involves: Conducting inventory reviews and assessments using specialized software Maintaining detailed records and documentation Organizing products according to designated storage locations Identifying and reporting discrepancies or damaged goods Supporting the development and implementation of improved inventory procedures Successful candidates will be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement. A strong sense of personal accountability and dedication to organizational standards is essential. Duties / Responsibilities: Perform daily cycle counts using ABC analysis. Prepare and execute counts, report count results. Maintain ABC Classification Tables. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies. Initiate root cause analysis and corrective action as needed. Audit Warehouse for accuracy of product storage, checking labels, ensuring products placed in each slot matches the system. Conduct weekly inventory of damaged, obsolete, or slow-moving material. Knowledge of material movement to pinpoint where an error took place. Assist Inventory Manager with any inventory variances in perpetual records. Ability to analyze records of data. Assist and respond to inquiries from Accounting. Conduct audits of Receiving, transfer & shipping documentation. Knowledge of home building or manufacturing is preferred. Self-motivated. Needs to take initiative and ownership of role. Efficient in math – add, subtract, divide, and multiply. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Able to take directions from Manager and complete tasks/projects as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; or equivalent experience. Must have the ability to work both independently and within a team. Must have a passion for quality and be naturally attentive to details. Must be reliable and able to work at an efficient pace. Strong communication skills. Strong organization skills. MS office skillset. Able to read and interpret documents. Inventory or warehouse management skills. Integrity and professionalism. Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and / or carry up to 35 lbs. Must be able to effectively communicate and exchange information with other team members. Work will be completed in parts of the facility that are not temperature controlled. Work is primarily completed by standing or walking and may require bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and crouching. Travel Requirements: None Why Clayton?
