Lead Firmware Engineer (OCI AI/Infra)

Salary: $96,800 - 306,400 per year Requirements:

• 10+ years of firmware engineering experience, including senior- or staff-level ownership of production systems.
• Hands-on experience with BIOS, BMC firmware, or other server platform firmware.
• Knowledge of secure boot, TPM, measured boot, and hardware roots of trust.
• Familiarity with server firmware stacks such as EDKII and OpenBMC.
• Understanding of firmware standards including UEFI, IPMI, and Redfish.
• Understanding of server platform standards such as PLDM, ACPI, and PCIe.
• Knowledge of server power and thermal management, as well as telemetry.
• Exposure to NIC, GPU, and storage firmware.
• Experience working with silicon platforms from one or more vendors, such as Intel, AMD, ARM, or ASPEED.
• Strong communication skills and technical judgment, with the ability to lead across teams without direct reporting authority.

• Design and develop prototype BIOS/UEFI firmware for x86 and/or ARM platforms.
• Review BMC firmware to confirm it supports target platform needs, including sensors, platform routing, and security.
• Understand how firmware components interact across a data center rack.
• Develop and enhance BMC firmware with data-center-specific capabilities.
• Contribute to and extend open-source platform management stacks, including OpenBMC.
• Integrate platform management interfaces such as Redfish, IPMI, and PLDM.
• Work with silicon vendors on reference code, firmware updates, and firmware enablement.
• Ensure firmware and vendor update mechanisms meet our security, data-center deployment, and availability requirements.
• Mentor engineers, participate in design reviews, and establish standards for maintainable, supportable, production-grade firmware across teams.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, security, and platform teams, both within and outside our organization.
