Description: Locals are allowed. First-time travelers are accepted. Block scheduling is allowed unless staffing gaps need to be filled, then all staff may need to balance schedules. Staff self-schedules. Nights are scheduled from 19:00 to 07:00. Every other weekend is required, sometimes every third depending on staffing balances. No call is required. No floating is required. A valid license is needed at the time of submission. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS; TNCC is preferred. The nurse must have ED-related skills. Any scrub color is permissible. The patient ratio for a nurse is 1:4. Patient age groups include adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The emergency department typically sees about 15 visits per day. The unit consists of 10 rooms and 10 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. Skills preferred include the management of various emergency conditions such as abdominal pain, trauma, mental health crises, and respiratory issues. The nurse will need to manage a variety of critical procedures and conditions, ensuring the highest quality of care is delivered. Requests for time off should be included in submissions and preferably avoided in the early weeks of the assignment. Expect to work some holidays and weekends.
