Senior Collections Specialist

Overview Our national multidisciplinary legal client based in Boston's Financial District is seeking an experienced Senior Collections Specialist to join their growing team in a newly created position. This role will assist attorneys in the collection of unpaid accounts receivable and provide guidance on effective collection methods. They will work closely with the Director of Collections to ensure accounts are properly managed and monitored to avoid delinquencies and establish ongoing relationships with clients. Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance required 3-5 years collections experience in a law firm required 3E or Aderant required Experience in Big 4 public accounting firms with 3E or Aderant experience highly considered Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Outstanding problem-solving skills and a high degree of confidence and professional maturity Able to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear, concise and professional manner Demonstrated ability to professionally interact with attorneys, staff, and clients Must be self-directed and able to thrive in a busy, time-sensitive environment Expertise with Microsoft Word and Excel Self-motivated, fast learner, dedicated to producing quality work and bringing assigned tasks and projects to completion Responsibilities Assist in the collection of delinquent accounts Prepare and review monthly collection reports Prepare supporting documentation for the collection of delinquent accounts Develop working relationships with assigned billing attorneys to manage portfolios and promote year-round collection practices Under the direction of the Director of Collections, discuss delinquent accounts with billing attorneys, place collection calls to clients with overdue receivables, and set up payment plans, including negotiating balances Maintain collection files and records Note: This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with hybrid work arrangements as specified by the client.
