Salary Ranges:
Psychiatrist I: $234,898.25 - $299,796.51/annually
Psychiatrist II: $259,283.92 - $330,919.11/annually
THE POSITION
We are currently looking for a Psychiatrist I/II to provide psychiatric services to both children/adolescents and adults. This position will support both adult and children's services based on operational and clinical needs, with work time anticipated to be divided by approximately 50% adult services and 50% children/adolescent services, subject to change based on clinic needs.
The Psychiatrist I/II will provide medical and psychiatric treatment and diagnostic services to clients in the caseload of Tri-City and provide collaborative work with a multidisciplinary team in a public mental health agency. Provide integrated, effective, and high-quality behavioral health care to the residents of Pomona, Claremont and La Verne with moderate to severe functional impairment due to mental illness.
This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Perform intake and diagnostic interviews on a scheduled and emergent basis.
- Participate in diagnostic staff evaluation of clients.
- Provide medical psychiatric treatment of clients.
- Maintain and disseminate medical records and reports in compliance with Federal, State and Agency regulations, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, Public Law 111-005 ("HITECH Act").
- Submit required statistical and other requested information on a timely basis.
- Consult and provide information to other agencies that are coordinating their work with that of the behavioral health service agency.
- May serve on Utilization Review Committee, Medication Review Committee, and chair Peer Review Committee as assigned.
- May conduct specialized research, special studies, and services.
- Provide medical consultative services to the behavioral health services staff; lead team conferences and provide clinical direction in unit(s) to which assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Psychiatrist I: Board Eligible for General Psychiatry and successful completion of a Psychiatry Residency Program.
Psychiatrist II: Active and current board certification issued by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in at least one of the Board's recognized specialties or subspecialties (e.g., general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, psychosomatic medicine, etc.) and successful completion of a general psychiatry residency program; OR: Board eligible (not certified) Psychiatrists having completed their residencies prior to October 1, 1994 and possess 15 years or more of paid work experience following successful completion of the probationary period as Psychiatrist I with the Center.
Additional Requirement for Both Psychiatrist I and Psychiatrist II:
Applicants must have successfully completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.
The selected candidate must be willing and able to provide psychiatric services to both children/adolescents and adults based on clinic needs.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Physicians and Surgeons Certificate to practice medicine in the State of California (MD/DO), which is unrestricted and registration with DEA for controlled substances.
Board certification or board eligibility in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is preferred.
Preferred Candidates will possess: Two (2) years of experience in a community mental health setting; experience providing psychiatric services to children, adolescents and adults; basic computer skills; knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and will be bilingual in Spanish. Prior experience working with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (DMH) documentation is highly desired.
PSYCHIATRIST FULL-TIME BENEFITS
Merit Salary Increases: Annually based on performance, budget availability and supervisor approval.
CalPERS Pension: 2% @ 55 for Classic Members and 2% @ 62 for PEPRA Members; employee contributes 7% for Classic and 7.75% for PEPRA. No Social Security.
Vacation: 80 hours per year, increasing with years of service with a maximum of 240 hours; cash out option available.
Sick Leave: Full-Time employees = 88 hours per year with no cap.
Continuing Medical Education Leave: Up to 100 hours of CME leave per calendar year.
Holidays: 11 paid holidays per calendar year plus an additional 16 hours of Floating Holidays.
Flexible Work Schedule: 9/80 or 4/10, where applicable and approved by supervisor.
Health Insurance: Medical (Kaiser HMO), dental (MetLife PPO) and vision coverage (EyeMed) of which 80% is paid by Tri-City Mental Health Authority (TCMHA).
Life Insurance: Paid at one times annual salary, paid by Tri-City MHA with additional optional coverage available.
Deferred Compensation (457b/401a): Available to interested employees; employer match of up to 4% base pay.
Sign On Bonus: $25,000 sign on bonus paid out following the completion of the first full pay period.
Retention Bonus: An annual bonus of $15,000 following completion of the third consecutive year of service and thereafter.
Association & Licensure Dues/Fees: Up to $5,000 paid for professional associations, memberships and/or licensure dues or fees per calendar.
Education Incentive: An additional 5.5% increase to base pay for board certifications obtained while employed.
Wellness Stipend: Up to $1,000 per fiscal year for the wellness programs.
Additional Optional Benefits: EAP, FSA, STD/LTD & ADD, Bilingual Incentive Pay, On Call Pay, Employee Referral Fee Program, Credit Union available through CU of So Cal, and more.
