About the Position

RN – CVOR | Christiana Hospital

• Facility: Christiana Hospital

• Location: Newark, Delaware (DE)

• Unit: Operating Room – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

• Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (4*10 - Day Shift)

• Weekend Requirement: On-call coverage — 1 weekend every 4 weeks

• Holiday Requirement: 1 winter holiday and 1 summer holiday

• Call Requirement: 1–2 call shifts per week

• Required Certifications: None specified

• Special Requirement: Must be able to scrub for cardiovascular surgical procedures

Key Responsibilities / Expectations

• Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures.

• Scrub for CVOR cases and support the surgical team during procedures.

• Maintain a sterile field and follow surgical asepsis and infection-control protocols.

• Prepare and organize surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for cardiovascular cases.

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other operating room team members.

• Participate in the required call rotation, including weekday call and one weekend every four weeks.

• Fulfill the required winter and summer holiday coverage.
