As a Mig Welder, you will be responsible for performing MIG welding on structural steel products, including concrete bracings, anchors, embeds, and support assemblies. Your role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, welding symbols, and work instructions. You will prepare materials for welding using grinders, saws, and other fabrication equipment, inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality and dimensional specifications, and operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on structural steel products.

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, welding symbols, and work instructions.

• Prepare materials for welding using grinders, saws, and other fabrication equipment.

• Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality and dimensional specifications.

• Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.

• Maintain productivity while meeting quality standards and production schedules.

• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.

• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering personnel to resolve fabrication issues.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 1 year of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or structural steel environment.

• Ability to pass a practical weld test.

• Experience reading blueprints and fabrication drawings.

• Knowledge of welding processes, weld symbols, and measuring tools.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience welding structural steel components.

• AWS certification or equivalent welding credentials.

• Forklift and overhead crane experience.

• Familiarity with concrete construction accessories and embedded steel products.

Work Environment

Work in a dynamic manufacturing environment with a shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Ensure safety and efficiency while utilizing advanced fabrication equipment and adhering to quality standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
