Senior Accounting Consultant

Job Summary Provide bookkeeping and accounting services to clients, managing recurring client engagements, assisting with special projects, and resolving client issues as needed. Responsibilities Assisting multiple clients with accounting and finance functions, including financial close reporting and related support on a recurring monthly basis. Create and maintain client financial transaction records using QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Fathom. Apply accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare accurate reports. Support audits and tax return preparation by creating schedules, gathering information, and providing analysis. Manage account reconciliation and month‑end close processes. Assist with special projects and resolve client issues. Collaborate with other consultants and clients for continuous improvement recommendations. Support professional development of team members. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience with QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Excel, and Bill.com is preferred; overall technical proficiency with accounting software is required. Accounting skills to generate, prepare, and review general ledger entries and other records in accordance with GAAP and other accounting bases. Ability to identify variances, research questions regarding financial activity, and improve accounting processes and procedures. Promote positive working relationships with diverse personalities and roles at all firm levels. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; analytical ability and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute work on time and within budget. Ability to work in office and remotely (hybrid). Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. CPA preferred. 3+ years of accounting experience. Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field required. This is an exempt position and may require working beyond a standard 40‑hour week. Compensation & Benefits Compensation range: $40.00 – $55.00 per hour for positions located in IL, MA, or CO.
