Job Summary and Qualifications The Mental Health Professional III role delivers exceptional psychiatric treatment to patients and their loved ones, prioritizing patient satisfaction through patient-centered, high-quality care. Key responsibilities include evaluations, psycho-education, group activities, treatment planning, discharge mapping, and therapeutic counseling in one-on-one, family, and group sessions. Responsibilities Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate the care of psychiatric patients. Instruct patients and families regarding treatment instructions. Demonstrate advanced clinical skills and facilitate individual, group, and family psychoeducational and process groups. Develop treatment plans; attend and review treatment-planning meetings continually. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to assess and coordinate discharge planning needs and readiness; provide guidance on complex issues. Conduct post-discharge follow-up as indicated. Facilitate and participate in community education, activities, and support groups as appropriate. Maintain effective communication with patients, families, multidisciplinary teams, and continuum-of-care providers. Maintain professionalism, use good communication skills to interact with peers, staff, patients, and families, and resolve conflicts. Demonstrate knowledge and ability to maintain clear professional boundaries and provide education on state commitment processes, abuse reporting, duty to warn, and guardianship processes. Demonstrate knowledge and role in hospital codes. Serve as an educational resource to patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, payer representatives, and others about behavioral services. Review, coach, and assist in training new staff/interns as assigned, within approved practice and program guidelines. Participate in developing department goals and clinical programming. Perform utilization review as assigned. Assist with process and quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications Master’s degree in a Human Services related field (Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, or Counseling). Advanced educational preparation or experience in clinical practice and/or management. Currently licensed as one of the following professionals in the state(s) of practice: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCWS), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW/LICSW). Authorization by the state to provide outpatient psychiatry treatment services to Medicare beneficiaries. American Heart Association BLS (within 30 days of hire). Crisis Intervention Prevention (CPI) training required (within 30 days of hire). Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 30 days of employment start date. Fingerprinting required. No travel required.
