About the Role As the first point of contact for most clients, Tellers play a key role in delivering Columbia Bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards. With guidance from the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager, the Teller’s primary responsibility is to ensure banking transactions are performed accurately, ethically, and in compliance with bank procedures and regulations. Responsibilities Perform banking transactions accurately, ethically, and in compliance with procedures and regulations. Maintain and enhance client relationships through meaningful conversations that uncover client needs and identify opportunities to provide additional bank products and services. Execute teller and cash handling functions for clients, including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, check cashing, and balancing cash drawer. Support daily and continuous branch operations, such as double‑custody balancing of the ATM, processing night‑drop deposits, balancing negotiable instruments, processing returned mail, balancing credit card machine, and updating lobby rate sheets and brochures. Mitigate risk by safeguarding money in the cash drawer and ensuring prompt accounting or transfer of funds. Interact with external and internal clients, anticipate needs, and provide proactive solutions and problem resolutions aligned with the bank’s client service standards. Support branch referral goals by identifying and referring basic bank products to the appropriate business partner. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, required. Minimum one year of previous banking or customer service experience, preferred. Bilingual language skills preferred. Demonstrated ability to learn and comply with bank policies, procedures, and systems. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with written numbers, words, and verbal / written instructions. Strong relationship building skills with clients and other associates. Willingness to work fully onsite at the posted location. Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour. Eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation.
