We are a leading healthcare provider and employer of choice in our community. Position Overview Transcribes medical dictation for Pathologists. Maintains medical and legal records and correspondence files. Assembles data for reports related to committee meetings. Handles telephone calls and messages for the pathologists. Initiates charges on medical legal reports, autopsies, and blood alcohol determinations. Essential Functions Daily transcription/typing as dictated or assigned. Process with proper protocol all send outs/check‑ins of blocks, slides, and specimens. Maintain and oversee all pathology messages in the pathology book. Process with proper protocol all autopsy, coroner, law enforcement issues. Coordinate/schedule all monthly meetings and surgeries on calendar. Assist Pathologist and Department Staff with all administrative/secretarial needs. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Regularly required to see, talk, and hear. Frequently required to sit and use hands along with fingers, to handle or feel. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Qualifications & Skills Education: High school diploma or equivalent. One or more years of college or training preferred. Training & Experience: Dictation experience preferred.
