Cardiologist, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Internal Medicine, Sports Cardiology Program (176224) Location: Stony Brook, New York Description The Division of Cardiology at The Heart Institute, Stony Brook University Hospital seeks a Director or Associate Director of our Sports Cardiology Program. The successful academic clinical cardiologist will develop and lead a comprehensive sports cardiology service, providing a mix of outpatient and inpatient care for competitive and recreational athletes, integrating advanced imaging and multidisciplinary collaboration. Key responsibilities include: delivering specialized outpatient care for athletes and sports teams; managing patients with complex ECGs, imaging, cardiomyopathies, and channelopathies; leading and collaborating with orthopedic surgeons, primary care, neurology, and institutional athletic program heads; teaching fellows and residents; and maintaining protected time for echocardiography, imaging consultation, quality initiatives, cardiac CT and MRI. Qualifications Required Qualifications: MD, DO, or MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent). Board certified in Internal Medicine, board eligible/board certified in Cardiovascular disease. Strong background or formal training in sports cardiology. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in echocardiography, cardiac CT/MRI, or related areas.
