Assistant Service Manager

Job Description Willow Run, 935 N. Van Dorn St, Alexandria, Virginia, United States of America Now hiring an Assistant Service Manager! We are seeking an Assistant Service Manager with a "Whatever It Takes" approach to join our team! In this full‑time role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the physical aspects of this 339 unit community meet both company standards and applicable laws. Responsibilities Manage, develop, and mentor the team in diagnosing problems and making repairs. Provide expert knowledge and troubleshooting in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool maintenance, carpentry, dry walling, exterior structure, and appliance repair. Be accountable for establishing and preparing a 24‑hour on‑call schedule for your team, and you must personally be available, always, in the event of snow, ice or other on‑site emergencies. Manage and organize inventory of all maintenance materials. Establish an on‑call schedule, preventive maintenance schedule, make‑ready schedule and general work order schedule for the team. Regularly inspect community buildings, including vacant units. Complete tasks assigned by the Service Manager. Compensation & Incentives Base Pay: $29.00-$31.00/Hr. Up to 50% Rent Discount Property Staff Shared Renewal Commissions On‑Call Appreciation: $15/day for holding the on‑call phone Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits 401(k) Retirement Plan with Company Match Generous Paid Time Off, including 10 holidays per year and sick leave Monday – Friday: 8am-5pm Paid rotating on‑call participation required Must be available and prepared for emergency events *Schedule subject to change based on business need Qualifications Active and valid driver’s license and personal vehicle. HVAC/EPA/CFC Certification preferred. One‑year certificate, 2‑4 years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience.
