Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 13-week assignment, open to candidates with no prior experience who hold ARRT registration or registry eligibility.

Details

• Hospital-based CT Scan department
• Fri-Sun day shift, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts

Requirements

• No prior experience required, though 2 years as a Rad Tech in diagnostic radiology is preferred
• Prior CT Technologist experience in a hospital or medical imaging facility preferred
• Associate's degree from a JRCERT accredited Radiology Program, or military training graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program validated by active ARRT certification
• Current BLS certification
• ARRT registered or registry eligible
• License required if applicable
• Additional CT certification by ARRT or other recognized certifying body preferred
• Strong knowledge of CT imaging principles, techniques, and equipment operation
• Proficiency in CT scanning protocols, image acquisition, and post-processing techniques
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Additional Information

• Greet and prepare patients for CT scans, explaining procedures and addressing concerns
• Verify patient identity, medical history, and physician orders to ensure appropriate imaging protocols
• Position patients and immobilize body parts as necessary to obtain clear images
• Operate CT scanner equipment to acquire diagnostic images per protocol and physician instructions
• Adjust scanning parameters such as slice thickness, exposure settings, and contrast administration to optimize image quality
• Monitor patients during scanning for adverse reactions or complications
• Review CT images for quality, positioning, and absence of artifacts
• Perform basic image processing techniques including windowing, reconstruction, and multiplanar reformatting
• Assist radiologists and physicians with image interpretation and documentation
• Provide guidance to colleagues on CT imaging techniques, patient positioning, and radiation safety practices
• Participate in orientation of new staff and education of Radiologic Technology Program students
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles
• Perform daily equipment checks and quality control tests on the CT scanner
• Participate in quality assurance activities including image quality assessments and protocol optimization
