This role involves providing preventive dental services, including dental prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, and patient education on oral hygiene and home care routines. The hygienist will perform thorough assessments of patients’ oral health, including periodontal evaluations, charting, and documenting clinical findings in dental records. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with dentists on treatment plans, assisting in managing periodontal disease, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining infection control standards. The hygienist will also help support a positive patient experience by communicating treatment needs clearly, answering questions, and reinforcing the importance of ongoing dental care.\n\nQualifications\n\n Strong foundation in Dentistry and Dental Care, with the ability to support comprehensive treatment plans and coordinate care with the dentist.\n Expertise in Hygiene and Dental Prophylaxis, including preventive cleanings, periodontal maintenance, and patient education on oral health practices.\n Ability to assess, identify, and manage Periodontal Disease, including periodontal charting, risk assessment, and appropriate maintenance protocols.\n Active Registered Dental Hygienist license in the state of Illinois and current CPR/BLS certification.\n Knowledge of infection control, OSHA standards, and safe instrument sterilization procedures.\n Proficiency with dental software and electronic health records, with accurate charting and documentation skills.\n Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on patient comfort, education, and cultural sensitivity.\n Ability to work collaboratively within a dental team, manage a consistent schedule, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced clinical environment.\n
