Commercial Lender

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

This position is onsite only. Remote work will not be considered. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Are you a self-starter? Have a knack at creating new opportunities? The Commercial Lender is a trusted partner to customers and community leaders, with a strong focus on relationship management, portfolio growth, risk assessment, and revenue generation. This role is responsible for originating, structuring, underwriting, and managing commercial loans that provide tailored financial solutions to meet customers\' business needs while maintaining sound credit quality, regulatory compliance, and prudent risk management practices. Duties and Responsibilities: Proactively develop new client relationships from phone contacts, in-person events, walk-in traffic, and client referrals. Collect documents and analyze applicants\' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine the feasibility of granting loans. Establish and negotiate the terms under which credit may be extended, including the costs, repayment method and schedule, and collateral requirements. Complete client loan write-ups to support lending recommendation and approve loans to the extent of personal lending authority and/or recommend loans for approval based on River Bank\'s Loan Policy and procedures. Monitor the quality of loan portfolios on a continuous basis through loan repayments, deposit activity and financials, and take necessary action to collect from past due accounts. Ensure all changes and proper documentation are in the assigned files and that follow-up ticklers and reports are completed to minimize exposure and loss to River Bank. Ensure compliance to law and River Bank\'s Loan Policies in regards to loan collateral evaluation, credit quality (risk rating), compliance to your lending limits and supporting documentation. Provide adequate information for future loan losses for loan portfolio and ensure all actions are taken to protect River Bank\'s assets and minimize losses. Sell additional products/services by clarifying customer needs, validating services being delivered, presenting features and benefits, and closing by asking for their business. Make referrals as appropriate. Network and build relationships within the community to promote River Bank\'s financial services and lending opportunities. Be aware of and support the Bank\'s efforts in meeting the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED. Three (3) years of professional commercial banking experience. High integrity and confidentiality. Knowledge of financial statement analysis and generally accepted accounting principles. Knowledge of loan policy, business lending guidelines and loan structure, and loan documentation. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Strong relationship-building skills.
