Company :Allegheny Health NetworkJob Description : GENERAL OVERVIEW:Conducts evaluations of hearing and recommends treatment to improve or conserve hearing ability. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Identify, test, diagnose and manage disorders of human hearing, balance, tinnitus; interpret results of behavioral and objective measures. (40%)Counsel patients about hearing health and the possible need for treatment/management. (10%)Assess the candidacy of persons with hearing loss for hearing aids and provide fitting, programming, and audiologic rehabilitation to ensure the best possible outcomes. (20%)Perform assessment and nonmedical management of tinnitus. (20%)Counsel and educate patients and families/caregivers on the psychosocial adjustments of hearing loss.
