Senior Property Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Interim Senior Property Accountant to provide hands-on accounting support across a portfolio of real estate properties. This role will take ownership of day-to-day property accounting while supporting month-end close, financial reporting, payables, reconciliations, and cash activity. The ideal candidate is a sharp, adaptable accounting professional who can quickly learn the business, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively with multiple property stakeholders. Manage accounting activities across multiple real estate properties and entities. month-end close , including journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and account reconciliations. monthly financial statements, supporting schedules, and management-requested financial reporting. accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including property and tenant billings. and apply cash receipts and ensure tenant payments are accurately and timely applied. bank and general ledger reconciliations and research discrepancies. debt payments and other accounting transactions as needed. accounting activity for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation. with property managers and internal stakeholders to resolve accounting questions and discrepancies. year-end accounting and tax preparation activities. with process improvements and documentation , helping create greater consistency and efficiency within the accounting function.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Strong accounting fundamentals with experience in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and month-end close. to independently manage accounting activities while balancing multiple properties, stakeholders, and deadlines. Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems or ERPs. organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. attention to detail with the ability to work accurately in a fast-moving environment. to learn new processes and systems quickly and work both independently and collaboratively. Real estate, property accounting, or multi-entity accounting experience is preferred. Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is a plus.
