Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer with extensive experience in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) consulting engineering for buildings . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical system design, multidisciplinary building coordination, and experience working for a building design consulting firm . Candidates with exposure to HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Technology Systems design coordination are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, industrial, and mixed-use building projects.

• Prepare electrical plans, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.

• Coordinate electrical designs with Mechanical (HVAC), Plumbing, Fire Protection, Technology, Structural, and Architectural disciplines.

• Develop and maintain BIM models using Revit and construction documents using AutoCAD.

• Participate in project planning, client meetings, site visits, and construction administration activities.

• Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.

• Ensure designs comply with NEC, IBC, NFPA, energy codes, and applicable industry standards.

• Mentor junior engineers and designers while providing technical leadership.

• Coordinate project schedules, budgets, and deliverables across multidisciplinary teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

• 6-11 years of consulting engineering experience for building projects.

• Strong experience working for a building design consulting firm.

• Demonstrated MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) project experience.

• Experience coordinating with HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Technology/Low-Voltage design teams.

• Knowledge of and proficiency in AutoCAD is required.

• Strong understanding of building systems and multidisciplinary coordination.

• Familiarity with BIM workflows and project coordination processes.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) License preferred.

• LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) preferred.

• Revit experience strongly preferred.

• Experience with building technology systems, including telecommunications, security, access control, audiovisual, or low-voltage systems.

• Technology Designer experience with building systems design is a plus.

• Experience designing and coordinating complete building systems beyond isolated components such as roof drainage systems.

Additional Screening Requirements

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Experience working on building design projects involving multiple engineering disciplines.

• Experience with HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Technology, or other building systems , not limited to roof drain design.

• Experience collaborating within an MEP consulting environment .

• Experience working for a building design consultant .

• Ability to coordinate effectively with architects, owners, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
