Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holiday Rotation Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical patients with diagnoses including pneumonia, heart failure, sepsis, COPD, urologic conditions, surgical recovery, total joints, general surgery, and occasional pediatric respiratory illness
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6 on night shift, delivering safe and effective patient care across an 18–22 bed unit
• Conduct three-times-per-shift touchpoints with Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to oversee and collaborate on essential cares including Foley care, CHG bathing, oral care, and plan of care updates
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitoring systems, with support from virtual central telemetry monitoring
• Manage patients on high-flow oxygen and stable home-regimen BiPAP as needed
• Float as needed to the ICU for general acute overflow patients or to a campus approximately 25 miles away to meet staffing needs, with at least 2 hours advance notice for off-site float assignments

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Ability to pass a drug screen; must comply with a drug-free workplace policy
• Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and participate in holiday rotation
• Solid color scrubs (no prints) per dress code requirements

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably in a medical-surgical setting
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Current PALS certification preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with PCT staff
