Field Service Technician – Woodworking Machines Anaheim, CA | Full-Time, Permanent | Field-Based with Territory Travel If you're a hands-on problem-solver who takes pride in getting machines running right, we'd like to meet you. About the Role As our Field Service Technician, you'll install, start up, and service woodworking machinery for customers across your territory. No two days are quite the same — one day you're commissioning a new machine, the next you're on-site troubleshooting a control system for a customer who needs to get their production line running again. You'll be the technical expert customers rely on, and the resource our team turns to on woodworking machine lines. What You'll Do Install, start up, and commission new and used woodworking machinery at Akhurst or customer sites Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control issues efficiently to minimize customer downtime Deliver hands‑on customer training on machine operation, applications, maintenance, and safety Order and manage parts to keep jobs on schedule Complete work orders, time, and expense reports accurately and on time Liaise with manufacturers on unresolved service issues and escalating as needed Stay current on Akhurst's woodworking machine lines through ongoing training What You Bring 3+ years' experience as a machine service technician, ideally with woodworking equipment Post-graduate certification from a recognized technical institution Strong knowledge of machinery electrics, electronics, PLCs, servo controls, and pneumatics Strong mechanical aptitude; CNC, machinist, or fabrication experience an asset Comfortable with Microsoft Office and day-to-day computer use Strong communication skills and a genuine customer service orientation Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in the field Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the territory, including occasional evenings Why Akhurst Akhurst Machinery is a fourth-generation, family-owned Canadian distributor of woodworking, metalworking, and construction machinery, with branches across Canada and the US.
