Senior Project Architect Designer

Senior Project Architect Designer (Miami, Florida) We are currently seeking a Senior Project Architect Designer to work in Miami, Florida in close collaboration with a local Associate Principal. This individual will contribute meaningfully to the design excellence that defines Olson Kundig’s work. The selected candidate will initially work remotely from Miami, Florida. Once the Miami, Florida office is established, regular in‑office attendance will be required. Primary Responsibilities Design Leadership Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of projects. Coordinates with the project manager to directly supervise the teams’ design and technical delivery. Manages the project quality control of design and deliverables within a project. Technical Design & Execution Prepares construction documents, including technically related building components and details. Serves as subject matter expert on specialized systems. Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects. Independently executes and leads the construction administration process. Reviews, compiles, and prepares project specifications as required. Team & Consultant Coordination Liaises with project management, other architectural team members, and consultants. Supervises and guides the work of junior architectural team members. Takes on aspects of external project communications and the preparation of presentations with subconsultants/clients. Can be relied upon to present directly to the client on technical and design solutions. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or another related field. Experience: Minimum 10+ years of post‑bachelor’s‑degree Architecture firm experience. Digital Literacy: Revit, and digital communications & collaboration tools such as Zoom and MS Teams. Design Portfolio: A portfolio of work demonstrating strong design, technical, and drafting abilities. Communication & Collaboration Highly collaborative by nature, with the willingness to approach every project with creativity. An innate desire to produce meaningful design work. Ability to communicate effectively with peers, colleagues, and design leadership. Detail‑oriented and task‑oriented with a passion for excellence. Pro‑active and dynamic in skills and leadership. Nice to Haves Experience working on high‑end, single‑family residential projects. Experience with Bluebeam Revu/Bluebeam Studio. Experience with Deltek Project Planning. Experience with MS Office Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Experience with sustainability‑focused project assessments, including Living Building Challenge, LEED, and high‑performance buildings. Licensure is desired but not required. Final salary decisions are made based upon the extent and relevance of the candidate’s experience, as well as internal equity and external market factors.
