The Marketplace Attendant supports the Hospitality Department by providing exceptional customer service for the Marketplace retail location at Broward Center for the Performing. This position is responsible for the presentation, stocking, inventory control, and sale of food, beverages, and retail merchandise to maximize sales opportunities and create a positive, memorable experience for patrons.

Essential functions include providing prompt, courteous, and attentive service to all guests to ensure a positive customer experience, setting up Marketplace displays, coolers, shelving, and merchandise presentations before each event, ensuring all products are properly stocked, front-faced, labeled, dated, and displayed in an attractive manner, verifying shelf pricing, item pricing, and product date labels are accurate and visible, conducting beginning inventory counts prior to each event and accurately documenting inventory levels, conducting end-of-shift inventory counts and assisting with inventory reconciliation and reporting, monitoring product levels throughout events and restocking merchandise as needed to maintain sales opportunities, rotating stock using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures to ensure product freshness, maintaining proper temperatures and storage conditions for food and beverage products, following all food safety, sanitation, and responsible vendor requirements, maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas utilizing a "clean as you go" philosophy, processing customer transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handling credit card and mobile payment transactions, knowing the correct pricing of all products and ensuring accurate reconciliation, working efficiently during high-volume periods while maintaining accuracy and customer service standards, communicating with supervisory staff regarding event details, product needs, inventory shortages, and operational concerns, assisting with receiving deliveries, unloading products, stocking inventory, and transporting supplies to assigned locations, participating in training sessions, meetings, and certifications as required, accurately clocking in and out for each shift and following all departmental policies and procedures, treating all patrons and fellow team members with professionalism and respect, and performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge and abilities include maintaining a physical presence at designated work locations, maintaining regular attendance, punctuality and work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and events, as needed, communicating effectively in English, both in writing and verbally, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment in daily activities, successfully completing Responsible Vendor and Food Safety Certifications, knowledge of retail sales, food service, merchandising, and inventory control practices, accurately counting, recording, and reconciling inventory, operating point-of-sale systems and processing financial transactions accurately, following established merchandising standards and maintaining attractive product displays, lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds and performing prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and stocking activities, working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, accepting direction, working independently, and contributing positively to a team environment.

Desired education and experience include a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience, previous experience in retail sales, concessions, hospitality, food service, merchandising, or customer service preferred, and experience with inventory management and stocking preferred.
