Local Highway Maintenance Technician

Position Summary Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking a full‑time Maintenance Technician to perform highway maintenance operations on I‑95, based in the Brunswick, Georgia area. Responsibilities Work as a part of a team performing tasks related to highway maintenance. Be flexible and able to work on‑call, nights, and weekends when necessary. Road patrol Incident response Lighting repair Sign repair Guardrail repair Heavy equipment operations Licensed herbicide applicator Preferred Experience Roadway maintenance or construction experience MOT certifications Requirements High School Diploma or GED Maintain company standards for background checks (criminal record, driving record, drug testing) Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations Carry out simple arithmetic functions Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology Ability to use smartphone and applications Ability to adjust to changing work schedule Work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds Operate hand/power tools Clean driving record essential Must pass criminal background check Schedule Full time Monday‑Thursday 6:30 am‑5:30 pm. Must be flexible and available to work on‑call when required. Must be able to work on‑call for 1 week (every 3 weeks) after‑hours on‑call rotation. Training On‑the‑job training provided. One (1) week of paid training will be provided at the time of hire. Training schedule will be Monday‑Friday, 6:30 am‑3:00 pm at our Jacksonville, FL project. Company will provide hotel accommodations during training. Salary and Compensation $17.20 per hour plus additional pay depending on knowledge and experience. Benefits Free PPE.
