Description OB Technologist II – Labor & Delivery (CST) Valley Presbyterian Hospital Support Safe Deliveries & Surgical Care At Valley Presbyterian Hospital, our Women’s & Children’s Services team is dedicated to delivering exceptional care to mothers and newborns. We’re seeking an experienced OB Technologist II to support Labor & Delivery procedures, assist clinical teams, and ensure a safe, efficient environment for patients and families. What You’ll Do Scrub and assist in Cesarean sections, tubal ligations, and other surgical procedures Support vaginal deliveries and assist providers during labor and recovery Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and delivery equipment Assist with patient care under the direction of the RN Set up and restock delivery rooms, OR suites, and epidural carts Maintain and monitor equipment, ensuring readiness for procedures Support unit operations including answering phones, data entry, and chart preparation Assist across Women’s & Children’s units as needed Follow infection control, safety, and sterile technique standards What You Bring 1+ year recent acute care experience as an OB Tech or Surgical Technologist Strong skills in L&D OR procedures and sterile technique Ability to assist with both vaginal and cesarean deliveries Strong communication and teamwork skills Sensitivity to the needs of mothers, newborns, and families Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program Current Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) AHA BLS certification Ability to obtain LA City Fire Card within 30 days Why VPH Mission-driven healthcare organization Hands‑on role in Labor & Delivery and surgical care Supportive and collaborative clinical environment Opportunity for growth within Women’s & Children’s Services Qualifications Education Required High School or better.
