Launch Engineer

DescriptionSAIC is hiring for a Launch Engineer to support a dynamic program at SAIC. This position is located in Chantilly, Virginia and requires an active TS/SCI with Poly Clearance to start. Supports Launch planning and execution for current (on contract) spacecraft and development of launch requirements for future systems. The following tasks are representative of those that will be accomplished at the request of the customer:Advise the customer on all aspects of spacecraft launch including requirements development, contract management, risk trades, spacecraft shipment, launch base processing, Launch Vehicle integration including Leading Edge Integration if necessary, OSL and launch base support, integrated scheduling, rehearsal planning, Day Of Launch (DOL) planning, and coordination with TIP 1.0 teamsDevelop requirements and contract language for all aspects of launch integration and operations for new spacecraft programsWork closely with NRO/OSL and contractor LSIC on launch planning and executionTrain SPO launch team for DOLMonitor launch planning and execution and create reports as needed for customer leadershipIdentify issues and potential issues to customer and recommend solutionsQualificationsRequired Attributes:Active TS/SCI Clearance with PolygraphBachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or significant mission experience with 18 years of experience; Masters with 16 years of experience; or PhD with 15 years of experience.Excellent Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skillsBasic understanding of DOD/IC satellite systems and architecturesExcellent oral and written communication skillsAvailable to travel domesticallyJob Field: Engineering and SciencesTravel: No
